Change the display on your Samsung Galaxy S7 wholly by yourself. All you need is Samsung Galaxy S7 LCD Screen Assembly and some tools. Follow the instructions step by step, and you will soon be able to enjoy a working display again.
1) Switch off your device
To get started turn off your Samsung Galaxy S7 completely to avoid damaging it during the repair. Press the on/off button for about three seconds until "Turn off" appears then confirm it by taping on it.
2) Remove SIM card tray
Insert SIM extractor into the small hole of the SIM drawer, which is on the top of the phone. Exert a slight pressure and SIM drawer will eject himself.
3) Heat the back of the phone
To remove the back cover you will need a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the glue that holds it. Use a hairdryer or a heat gun to heat the back of the phone for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the glue that holds it. If you feel the resistance in the next steps do not hesitate to heat the back for a few more minutes.
4) Remove back cover
Place the suction cup in the middle of the back of the phone in order to create a slight opening and then insert a pick to take over. Gently slide the pick all the way around the rear window (Try not to stick the pick in too far because that could damage the flex cables). Now you can lift the back of the phone.
5) Remove Antenna and Charging Coil Assembly
Remove eight 3.5mm Philips screws circled in yellow that are securing the NFC antenna and charging coil assembly. Insert the tip of a spudger into the small notch on the left side of the antenna and remove it from the phone frame. Do the same thing to remove charging coil assembly from out of the phone.
6) Disconnect battery
Use the flat end of a nylon spatula to disconnect the battery connector.
6) Disconnect screen
Keep the spatula in your hand and to the same thing to disconnect the display and digitizer connector.
7) Remove the screen
To lift the front panel you will need a suction cup, hard plastic pick, and a heat gun (a hairdryer will also work) The front panel is glued to the frame, use a heat gun to heat the outer edges of the back panel to about 60°C (140°F). You can do it without the heat gun but it's easier with it.
When the screen is warm enough, apply a suction cup as close to the heated edge of the phone as you can. Lift on the suction cup and insert an opening pick under the display. Slide an opening pick around the whole phone to separate the adhesive from the old display.
Pry up the side of the display opposite the display cable so that cable acts as a hinge as the phone opens. Carefully lift the display away from the mid-frame gently pulling the display connector through its hole in the mid-frame. Good job, you removed your old Samsung Galaxy S7 display.
8) Reassemble with the new screen
Your Samsung Galaxy S7 screen is completely disassembled. Before installing a new display, make sure to remove all traces of the old adhesive from the frame and any small glass fragments. Now take your new screen and reassemble your Samsung Galaxy S7 by following this guide in reverse order and then test everything up to make sure you did everything properly.
Test everything
