OnePlus Nord: Screen Replacement Guide

Like you already know, OnePlus Nord is currently the most famous smartphone OnePlus released. It has great specifications: 90HZ Fluid AMOLED display, Snapdragon 765G, up to 12GB of RAM,...  Besides some raw specifications, it also features a modern design with great cameras and overall it's a great smartphone device. Like we said in our Replacement Parts for One Plus Nord it would be foolish for such a great device to go to waste in case of a broken screen. In today's guide will go through what you need and how to perform a screen replacement step by step all by yourself on your One Plus Nord.

1) Turn off your device

The first thing you'll do is simply turn off your device, this is necessary in order to avoid any damages during repair. To do so, press and hold the on/off button and then press power off.

2) Lift the back panel

Before we do lift the rear panel, we'll need to loosen the glue holding it to the chassis. In order to do so grab a heat gun/hair dryer and heat the back for around 2 minutes. If you feel any difficulty removing the screen, feel free to reheat the screen.

Apply a suction cup to the back of the phone close to the center of the right edge. Pull the suction cup in order to create a gap between the glass and frame of the phone and slide an opening pick in between, Slide a pick all round the phone in order to loosen the glue completely and separate rear glass from the frame, then simply remove the back cover.

3) Remove the motherboard cover

Take a Philips #00 screwdriver and use it to remove nine 3.6mm screws that are holding the motherboard cover. Use an opening pick or tip of your finger to lift the motherboard cover and release the plastic clips holding it in its place.

4) Disconnect battery

Using a flat end spudger or again tip of your finger, disconnect the battery by prying connect straight from its socket.

5) Remove the daughterboard cover

Again, use the Philips #00 screwdriver and this time remove seven 3.6mm screws holding the daughterboard cover. Use an opening pick or tip of your finger to lift the daughterboard cover and release the plastic clips holding it in its place.

6) Disconnect display connector

Simply use the flat end spudger/tip of the finger to disconnect the display connector by prying it straight from its daughterboard socket.

7) Lift the front panel

Redo the same heating process we did on the back in order to loosen up the adhesive holding the screen to the frame. Again, apply a suction cup to the front of the phone close to the center of the right edge. Pull the suction cup in order to create a gap between the glass and frame of the phone and slide an opening pick in between, Slide a pick all around the phone in order to loosen the glue completely and separate the front glass from the frame, then simply remove the display.

Thread the display flex cable through the gap in the mid-frame and remove the display. Before you install the new display, remove all traces of the old adhesive from the frame, and clean the glued areas with alcohol.

8) Reassemble with the new screen

Your OnePlus Nord is completely disassembled. Now take your new screen and reassemble your OP Nord by following this guide in reverse order, and then test everything up to make sure you did everything properly.

Test everything

Congratulations, you changed your OnePlus Nord screen all by yourself. Now just test a few things to make sure everything is working properly:
-Test the brightness of the display.
-Test the touchscreen, select an app, and drag it all around the display. If it is following your finger everything is fine.
